Wrestling is both a team and individual sport. We typically have dual matches on Wednesday nights, and on weekends we attend individual and team tournaments where we travel to different parts of California. 2nd year Head Coach John Andree welcomes you to his program. The Pirates are definitely making some noise in the wrestling world. This year the Wrestlers finished 2nd in the very tough LPAL and went on to compete in the CIF Team Duals. Our top wrestlers have frequently qualified for the Southern Section Masters Tournament which combines all divisions; and our school has a history that includes sending our best wrestlers to the State Tournament. We also host one of the biggest and most respected tournaments in California and we are very proud of our Pirate wrestling tradition.
We work out during the week for about two hours daily after school. It doesn’t matter what size you are for this sport, because everyone has a chance to participate on the Varsity or J.V. team. In this sport, wrestlers compete against wrestlers that are the same weight. This makes it a fair sport for all. ALL ATHLETES GET TO PARTICIPATE!
Wrestling Season: The wrestling team welcomes all interested wrestlers to come join the team. Whether you have experience or you are beginning, wrestling is a sport for all, from light to heavy. Come try it out and enjoy a growing experience. The season begins in mid November and meetings will be held during the months prior to the first practice. The team looks forward to meeting you!
